Job Description

Commercial Solicitor required to lead on a high volume of commercial contract work, providing clear, pragmatic and commercially focused legal advice to support business objectives, manage risk and enable effective commercial decision-making.
Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including supplier agreements, customer agreements, framework agreements, terms and conditions, statements of work and service agreements
  • Provide legal advice and transactional support in relation to share purchase agreements (SPAs) and the acquisition and disposal of businesses, including oversight of due diligence and coordination of corporate documentation.
  • Act as the primary legal point of contact for contract-related queries, supporting stakeholders through the full contract lifecycle.
  • Provide practical advice on contractual risk, liability, indemnities, limitation of liability and dispute resolution provisions.
  • Advise on data protection, confidentiality and intellectual property provisions within commercial contracts.
  • Support commercial negotiations, balancing legal risk with commercial priorities and time pressures.
  • Develop and maintain contract templates, playbooks and guidance.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and internal governance requirements.
  • Manage a busy, high-volume caseload effectively.
  • Work collaboratively with procurement, finance, sales and senior stakeholders.
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing and mentoring of junior colleagues.

  • Requirements
  • Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales (minimum 4 years PQE).
  • Strong experience in contracts-focused commercial work.
  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills with a pragmatic approach.
  • Ability to explain legal risk clearly to non-legal stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational and stakeholder management skills.
